The Doberman or Doberman Pinscher is a tall slim athletic dog with a short black coat with dark gingery coloured features such as the underbelly, paws, snout and inner ears. There is also an exception to this, which sometimes you may get one a litter if you are lucky which is a brown or chocolate Doberman, which has the same coloured features but the main coat colour is a light brown instead of black. The Doberman has a medium length straight tail and fairly large floppy ears. However this is not preferred world wide as the breed standard and in mostly all cases the tails will be docked and the ears cropped to a point, the result is that you mostly wont see a Doberman with there natural floppy ears. The Doberman originates from Germany and makes a great family and guard dog as they are very loyal and protective with a medium energy.
